POETRY CORNER

A Time To Swear

What is this life, if full of care
We have no time to curse and swear

No time to grimace, scowl and frown
To bitch and moan at Cane Shum town

No time to see that shops we pass
Are down at heel and full of arse

No time to stand and stare in awe
At yet another charity store

No time to wonder; whos the git?
Both talentless and full of shit

That built his awful edifice:
Those rancid Council offices

No time to look at his ugly tower
Where work the mad, sly with their power

No time to guess if the same fat toad
Sunk our Abbey in a damned ring road

No time? Bullshit, now use your care
Its time my friends to stand and swear!

Eli McChurch

Sincere and abject apologies to Mr William Henry Davies, R.I.P
